Selection Process (Steps)
- Common FTE Written Test – 2025 (PAN-India, single day): 1 hour, MCQ format.
- Written Test composition: Technical Knowledge (50 Q based on discipline syllabus) + Aptitude (25 Q: English, Reasoning, Quantitative, General Awareness). Total 75 questions; 1 mark each; no negative marking. Extra time for PwBD as per rules.
- Qualifying marks for Written Test: 40% for UR (including EWS), 30% for reserved categories (subject to reservation of vacancies).
- For Field Engineer posts: shortlisted candidates (based on test + consent) will be called for Interview by the concerned Region/CC; interview qualifying marks & empanelment rules apply.
- For Field Supervisor posts: empanelment is primarily on Written Test merit (Region-wise) followed by document verification and offer of engagement.
- Final offer is based on merit, document verification, medical fitness and vacancy requirement. Test scores are valid for 1 year.
Test Centres & Scribe Facility
Test centres are pan-India (example centres include Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Mumbai). POWERGRID may alter centres; final centres and test dates will be intimated via candidate login.
